New Gary Community Development Corporation is a private not-for-profit 501(c) 3 community based agency organized and operated exclusively to promote the revitalization of our city, Gary, Indiana, through job training and job enhancement skills in the lives of the people within the community. Our mission is to assist and motivate people in obtaining skills and job tools needed to keep or obtain jobs and to improve their lifestyles. We are not just an organization but also an active neighbor providing free to low cost services to citizens while assisting in both inner and outer growth of the individual.

Our Services
Job Training The purpose of our job training program is to hire unemployed and underemployed individual and to prepare them for the general job market through the establishment of a job training program. The goal of the job training program is to train all full-time and targeted part-time employees in basic characteristics and skills necessary to become successful leaders in any work environment.
Computer Training New Gary CDC – Computer Learning Center (1998) assist adults and children by providing up-to date computer enhancement skills through small classes and personalized training. We endeavor to instill confidence, competence, and dedication into each student who by rebuilding their lives, will assist in revitalization of the city of Gary.
Literacy Our literacy program is designed to offer enhanced literacy skills to participants by developing a commitment to lifelong learning with an introduction to phonetic, reading, vocabulary building, storytelling and increased comprehension as well as speed reading for both adults and children. Services offered: GED Prep, Tutoring, Speed Reading, Literacy.
Transitional Housing Embassies of Christ and New Gary Community Development Corporation share a vision for providing housing to families who are in financial distress. The two entities came together and formed what is now the Transitional Housing Program. This program allows families (single parent or husband, wife and children) to stay rent and utility free for a period of no more than 2 years in order for them to correct their financial position and to secure a home of their own.
